Tuesday 10th August............ Unfinished Business Last year, for various reasons, I cut short my trip and didn't get to spend the last few days touring Brittany. This years trip to Ireland was not the success I had hoped for, and although I had a good time, it was hard work and I came back wondering if my Bike Touring days were numbered. So, I planned to go to Cropredy Music Festival but decided that for the price of a festival ticket I could get a cheap ferry over to France and tour around Brittany for a few days - I really just wanted to get back on the bike, get some miles under my belt, and decide whether or not to carry on with these long bike trips. I must admit that "taking a flyer" and sampling French hospitality has got my enthusiasm back again.
The plus side of the Ireland trip is that I have "ridden the wind and the rain" big time! However I hope the bloody sun comes out .......... So I am heading for Rouen tomorrow and then on into Brittany for a 6 day tour. I wonder if going in the middle of the French holiday season will make it harder to find places to stay................ |
