The Fold Up Bike Trip

Day 6
Thursday 18.06.09  Castenaudery to Le Rozier          150m

We have a nice breakfast on the terrace overlooking the canal. Once we are packed and ready to leave I store my camping gear and pay the bill. We set off at 10.00 am. We need to get about 120 miles under our belts to reach the Tarn Gorges. Its getting hot, 31 degrees!

We stop for lunch at St. Affrique and then head for the famous ‘Bridge in the Sky’ at Millau. I’ve been over it before but its just as good the second time. Judith is flagging in the heat so, after a short chat with a couple of Irish bikers we knock off the last 40 miles to the start of the Gorge at Le Rozier.

The Hotel Doussiere is very picturesque. After a shower and change out of our bike gear we go out for a couple of beers and something to eat. Les Mouches (flies) are in abundance and it feels very muggy (stormy). After a pleasant walk around the village its off to bed early. Tomorrow we go in search of Vultures!
