Day 16
Sunday 28.06.09 Navarrenx rest day
I am going to have that ‘day off’ today. There is a market in the village today so I trundle off to get some breakfast and buy some provisions. I buy an English newspaper and some croissants and settle down outside a cafe on the village square with a coffee. Headlines in the paper, Michael Jackson died of a heart attack yesterday! No doubt this will keep the media busy for several weeks, while here in Navarrenx .... The market is on, the sun is out and the talk is mostly of Sunday lunch.

Around the market I pick up bread, pate, cheese and peaches and then head off back to the site for a long, leisurely lunch. The temperature is rising to 30 degree once more so I settle down in the shade, have something to eat, read the papers and have a kip. Later I went for a swim and a spot of sunbathing, typical Sunday really :)

I had chilli and chips for supper – my chilli and Stephens fries (Stephen Fry?)
I must mention how good this site is. – Large pitches, all surrounded by hedges. The toilet block is of the highest quality with hot showers and music playing in the background. Excellent washing up facilities, washing machines etc etc. They have a recycling program throughout the site. They bottle their own wine at €3 a bottle and offer Pizza and Fries to order. They offer chairs and a table to walkers and bikers, this is a huge thing to us bikers and should be noted by other campsite owners (the second time this has happened on this trip). The pool is superb and I noticed that they have just put in a new kids playground.

You get all my 5 stars!
It’s been a great stay at Beau Rivage, I’ll be back!
